Awards: Marco Martinez, PostDoc at Sant'Anna School, receives the Marcello De Cecco Prize reserved for scholars under 30, to commemorate the great economist and economic historian

Prestigious award for Marco Martinez, PostDoc at Sant'Anna School, who received the Marcello De Cecco Prize in Economics and History of Institutions for his work "Forget About the Price: New Evidence on U.S. Reconstruction Aid in Italy (1947-1968)". The award was delivered by Bank of Italy Governor Ignazio Visco in Lanciano at the sixth edition of Mani Visibili, the annual conference of the Marcello De Cecco Association. The award was won ex-aequo with Tancredi Buscemi, author of the paper "Real Wages in the Kingdom of Sicily (1540-1850)”.

Marcello de Cecco's heritage

Marcello De Cecco was a great Italian economist and economic historian (Lanciano 1939 - Rome 2016). His research activities were mainly concerned with the intersection of theory, policy and history of monetary and financial markets, as well as, in more recent times, the analysis of the genesis and functioning of markets.

The Marcello de Cecco Association promotes civil society's passionate attention to the practice of political economy; it values interdisciplinarity and scholarly pluralism, with particular reference to the dialogue of the economic theory of institutions with the history of economic thought and political, economic and social history.
