CoMoS-climate change meeting in October 2020
CoMoS, the Complexity Modellers' Society, will hold its next meeting on climate change on October 15, 2020. The meeting will take place from 3pm to 6pm in blended mode, both in person (Aula 3 @via Maffi 27 - the new EMbeDS multifunction laboratory) and online -- with many colleagues joining from around the world.
The purpose of the meeting is to kickstart collaborations on applications of advanced simulation and data analysis techniques to climate change problems. For example, Matteo Coronese and Luca Insolia (a Data Science PhD student) will discuss applications of econometric and statistical learning methods to climate risks. Additionally, Andrea Vandin and Marco Pangallo will discuss methodological advances in Agent-Based Modeling that could be applied to obtain a better theoretical understanding of the effects of climate change on the economy. Finally, Roberto Buizza, a faculty in the Life Sciences Institute of the Sant’Anna School, director of the 3CSA Center at the School and recent affiliate of EMbeDS, will conclude the meeting giving a general overview of his research agenda on climate change.
